General Questions

What is Pixymini?

Pixymini is a free, privacy-first image compression tool that processes your images directly in your browser. No uploads, no accounts, no tracking. Your images never leave your device.

Is Pixymini really free?

Yes! Pixymini is 100% free with no hidden fees, no premium tiers, and no usage limits. We believe powerful image compression should be accessible to everyone.

Do I need to create an account?

No account is required. Simply visit the website and start compressing images immediately. We respect your privacy and don't collect personal information.

What browsers are supported?

Pixymini works on all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. We recommend using the latest version of your browser for the best experience.

Privacy & Security

Where are my images processed?

Your images are processed entirely in your browser using WebAssembly technology. They never leave your device or get uploaded to any server. This ensures maximum privacy and security.

Do you store my images?

No. We do not upload, store, or have access to any images you compress. All processing happens locally on your device. Once you close the browser tab, your images are gone from memory.

What data do you collect?

We collect minimal anonymous usage statistics (like number of images processed and aggregate file size savings) to improve our service. We do not collect personal information, image content, or metadata.

Is my image metadata (EXIF) safe?

Yes. When using client-side processing, your image metadata stays on your device. We also offer an EXIF removal tool if you want to strip metadata before sharing images.

Image Formats & Compression

What image formats are supported?

Pixymini supports JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, and GIF formats. You can also convert between formats (e.g., PNG to WebP) for additional size savings.

What is the maximum file size?

You can compress images up to 50MB in size. For optimal performance, we recommend processing images in batches if you have many large files.

How does the quality setting work?

The quality setting (1-100) controls the compression level. Higher values preserve more detail but result in larger files. We recommend 75-85 for photos and 90-95 for graphics with text.

What is the "effort" setting?

Effort (1-10) controls how much time the compression algorithm spends optimizing your image. Higher effort means better compression but takes longer. A value of 4-6 is a good balance for most uses.

Which format should I use?

For photos, use JPEG or WebP. For graphics with transparency, use PNG or WebP. For web use, WebP and AVIF offer the best compression. Modern browsers fully support WebP, while AVIF support is growing.

Features & Tools

Can I compress multiple images at once?

Yes! Pixymini supports batch compression. Simply drag and drop multiple images or select them using the file picker. All images will be processed simultaneously.

What tools are available?

Besides compression, we offer: Image resizing, Format conversion, Cropping, Rotation, Watermarking, Filters, and EXIF metadata removal. All tools work client-side for maximum privacy.

Can I download all compressed images at once?

Yes, you can download all compressed images as a ZIP file. This makes it easy to process and save multiple images in one go.

Do you have an API?

Currently, Pixymini is a browser-based tool. An API for developers is on our roadmap. Contact us if you're interested in early access.

Troubleshooting

Why is my image not compressing?

Ensure your image format is supported (JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF). If the image is already heavily compressed, further compression may not reduce the size. Try adjusting the quality setting.

Why is compression slow?

Large images and high effort settings require more processing time. Try reducing the effort setting or processing fewer images at once. Client-side processing uses your device's resources.

The download doesn't start. What should I do?

Check if your browser is blocking popups or downloads. Disable ad blockers temporarily for pixymini.jvkings.com. Try a different browser if the issue persists.

Why does my image look different after compression?

Lossy compression (JPEG, WebP, AVIF) can introduce artifacts at low quality settings. Increase the quality value for better fidelity, or use PNG for lossless compression.
